This is one of those rare things my mother would make. She would put the glutinuous flour, salt and sugar into that red pail and then hot water into the flour.  As she will then start to shape the dough.

This skin dough can be either boiled or fried. You can replace part of the glutinuous rice with sweet potatoes or potatoes or pumpkins or yam.

Glutinuous Rice Flour Skin Dough (????)


200g glutinuous rice flour

50g sugar

A pinch of salt

60-90 ml of water at 70C


150g sweet potatoes

150g glutinous rice flour

20ml oil

20g caster sugar

Pinch of salt

Water as required


  1. Combine everything in a blender until it comes to a dough!
