Piping gels are so beautiful! I remember loving to use them when I first started baking. It is almost transparent and so flexible. And, the best part: it tastes wonderful.

Really simple to make with simple ingredients.

Piping Gel


1/4 cup corn starch

1/4 cup room temperature water

1/2 cup light syrup

Any flavourings or colour


  1. Mix water and cornstarch, and then add the syrup.
  2. Cook over the stove until it becomes a gel.
  3. It can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
